Casa Rossa is a manor house dating back to the 18th century, located into a rural estate in Castel Ritaldi, an ancient village a few kilometres from Assisi, Spello and Spoleto. Parts of the property – an unicum divided only by brooms, wild roses and dry stone walls – are also a garden and a big outdoor swimming pool, with an equipped solarium. But most of all, Casa Rossaoffers incredible landscapes and atmospheres. The first are a nature’s gift, thanks to the hillside position and the thick local vegetation, which only opens to show fortresses and villages. The second ones instead are, at least just a bit, thanks to us.Casa Rossa has been restored in such a way as to respect not only its structure (we have chosen to make only eight apartments), but also its history. A history which also became “our” history in the second half of the Nineteenth century, when “the singer” – as he is still called in the area – Gianfrancesco Angelini Rota bought Casa Rossa’s buildings and lands. A famous and appreciated bass voice who was particularly admired by the Russian zar Alexander II, Granfrancesco left the stage in 1871, choosing to live a quiet and family life in the countryside of Castel Ritaldi. That peace is still untouched, as it is the bond of our family with this land. We have been living here for 150 years and we are happy to be. |
